For Kids

In modern society, there are many socially difficult issues that young children face on a daily basis. One of the best ways to teach them how to deal with such challenges is through Tae Kwon Do.  Through whole body development, an individual learns not only self-protection but also patience, modesty, courtesy and respect for others. It leads to development of the whole person, morally, spiritually and physically.

Why Does a Young Child Need Tae Kwon Do?

  • Opportunity – At a young age, children’s bodies are at an opportune stage for development. Tae Kwon Do teaches flexibility as well as promotes physical interaction of the entire body. This in turn leads to development of good “habits” and a positive attitude towards exercise which they can carry with them into adulthood.
  • Coordination – Tae Kwon Do movements incorporate usage of 90% of the large muscles of the body and about 80% of the small muscles. It gives the body positive reinforcement and teaches the muscles to work together in harmony with one another
  • Mind – Physical development is only part of the picture. Coordination requires focus which helps strengthen the mental capacity, especially in young children. Concentration skills are developed, which can be applied to other areas such as in school and the arts.
  • Challenges – Tae Kwon Do allows children to set goals and reach them in a progressive step by step manner. Learning of the various forms and movements within grows more complex as they advance. Each belt level reached is an achievement for which children develop pride and confidence within themselves.
